Who we are?
We are LGBT Social, a community organisation based in Sheffield, UK. Our data protection officer is Curtis Holland.
What information do we collect?
We collect the information you provide, including but not limited to names, addresses, user names, etc. This data is collected when a user voluntarily provides this when a user registers, purchases or uses our services, completes a contact form, signs up to a newsletter, etc.
We do not collect any additional data which you do not consent or provide as part of your account and your data is always owned by yourself and is never passed to any third parties. (Unless this is for Lawful Safeguarding - Please see "When do we share personal data?" below.
How do we use personal information?
We may use the data you provide to support the following:
personalisation of content, business information and user experience,
account set up and administration
delivering marketing and events communication,
carrying out polls and surveys,
internal research and development purposes,
providing goods and services,
legal obligations (eg prevention of fraud),

What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?
Via the GDPR regulations, we require your consent to hold your information. This is granted by yourself when you sign up to our website and services.
As per GDPR, you are able to download any information we hold on you from your account settings and can erase your data and account easily if required.
When do we share personal data?
Please be aware, we will always treat personal data confidentially and under usual circumstances would never share this with any third party. However, our team might have to disclose your details for Lawful Safeguarding if one of our team is concerned about your wellbeing or we believe you or someone else may be in any danger.
Where do we store and process personal data?
The data we hold on you is always available to you as part of your profile and is stored securely in your account. There are many features within your account to help you limit who can see your information.
How do we secure personal data?
Our site is protected with an SSL Certificate, this means your data is secured from hackers. We also offer Two-Factor Authentication as a FREE feature on all accounts. The security on our website helps to:
protect data against accidental loss,
prevent unauthorised access, use, destruction or disclosure,
ensure business continuity and disaster recovery,
restrict access to personal information,
conduct privacy impact assessments in accordance with the law and our business policies
How long do we keep your personal data for?
Your account data will exist within our server for as long as your account is active. GDPR requires us to retain data for no longer than reasonably necessary. However, we know that your data is important, so wherever possible we leave this up to the user to erase their account should they no longer wish us to retain their information. We may, however, delete account data for a couple of reasons - These include if an account is believed to be spam or an account has not been activated in a long time.
When you choose to erase your account, or it is erased due to one of the above reasons, we ensure this is completely erased and securely deleted from existence. This ensures 100% confidence that your data no longer exists.
Your rights in relation to personal data
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
access to personal information - you can always access your data within your account,
correction and deletion - ability to change and/or erase your data at all times,
withdrawal of consent - remove your account and consent at any time,
data portability - ability to download all of your data within your account,
restriction of processing and objection - ability to change viewing permissions within your account. Ability to delete your account,
lodging a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office
Individuals can exercise their rights, at any time and can contact us to fulfill a subject data request.
Please be aware there may be circumstances where data subject rights may be limited, this includes if fulfilling the data subject request may expose personal data about another person, or if we're asked to delete data which we are required to keep by law.
